According to press reports, after heavy rains, many road edges along the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet highway in the North - South direction from Ham Thuan Bac commune to Ham Liem commune (over 10km) were damaged. Rainwater flowed down the embankment, forming large gullies and holes.
Therefore, the Prime Minister assigned the Minister of Construction to inspect, handle and report the implementation results to the Prime Minister before September 25.
The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway project has a total investment of 10,853 billion VND, opened to traffic more than 2 years ago, is more than 100km long, the project connects the South Central region with the Southeast region, helping to shorten travel time from Phan Thiet to Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City.
On the same day, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh also requested relevant ministries, branches and localities to urgently review and remove difficulties and obstacles related to four key traffic projects: the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan, Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon and Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh expressways.
Up to now, the progress of 4 projects has basically met the requirements, completed the technical traffic on the occasion of August 19 with about 83.97/231.27km (through Da Nang city 11.47km; through Gia Lai province 72.5km), however, 4km of Km16+700 - Km19+800 section of the Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh component project has not been completed as planned.
To ensure the progress of project completion, the Deputy Prime Minister requested to study a specific mechanism to provide enough asphalt concrete for the Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh Project; the Ministry of Construction continues to direct investors and contractors to strictly control the progress and quality of works, and closely monitor contractors who are behind schedule in the final stages of the project.
