Building a monument to soldiers of 5 countries under the urgent order of the Minister of National Defense

According to the People's Army Newspaper, on the afternoon of July 12, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense , and a working delegation from the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense inspected the progress of the construction of a symbolic area to recognize the support and assistance of countries in Vietnam's resistance wars at the Vietnam Military History Museum.

The symbolic project to commemorate the support and assistance of countries in Vietnam's resistance wars was built on an area of 3,600 ^m2 including: construction of leveling and filling the foundation; yard, traffic roads; platforms for placing symbols and a system of technical infrastructure and synchronous equipment.

Symbols of some countries, full-body statue group form, about 3 m high including base, red copper material; base size suitable for design and arrangement of symbols.

At this point, the project has begun to be implemented according to the design plan. Regarding the artistic content, leading domestic sculpture experts have researched and prepared sketches of statues from other countries and are taking opinions from other countries on the content and form.

General Phan Van Giang emphasized that this is a meaningful project, to acknowledge the support and assistance of countries in the resistance wars of the Vietnamese people. He requested the competent agencies to implement the urgent construction order of the Minister of National Defense.

The Logistics Department is the standing agency, advising, proposing and organizing the implementation of the construction part to ensure the progress and quality of the project, in accordance with current regulations. The symbolic project records the support and assistance of countries in Vietnam's resistance wars: a common symbol of the help and sacrifice of military experts from other countries, made of bronze and created by Vietnam.

The bronze monument honoring military experts from Russia, China, Laos, Cambodia, and Cuba was designed and constructed by the countries, or by Vietnam at the request of each country.

The relief is made of monolithic green stone, designed and constructed by Vietnam. The project is surrounded by green trees and grass.
