The project to collect, manage and use fees for infrastructure works, service works... in the Nam Giang International Border Gate area was approved by the Provincial People's Council on September 22, 2023 and officially collected fees from January 1, 2024.
This fee does not include fees and charges under the authority of other competent authorities and specialized management agencies at border gates according to legal regulations related to road motor vehicles.
According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Tien - Deputy Director of Nam Giang International Border Gate Management Board, National Highway 14D is seriously degraded, making it very difficult for vehicles to travel due to the large volume of tractor-trailers carrying ore in transit to ports in the Central region.

Statistics for the first 3 months of 2024 show that the total number of vehicles passing through the border gate is about 14,114. It is forecasted that in the second quarter of 2024, this will increase by 150% and by the end of 2024, it will increase by 200%.
To manage and clear goods and vehicles to ensure security and order, the Nam Giang International Border Gate Management Board has requested the Quang Nam Economic Zones and Industrial Parks Management Board to report to the Provincial People's Committee to direct the Department of Transport to have a plan to urgently maintain, repair, and regularly and promptly repair severely damaged points to ensure traffic safety.
At the same time, it is recommended that the Ministry of Transport submit to the Government investment in National Highway 14D according to standards to ensure traffic connection and in accordance with regulations on land border gate management.
