Request to review the principal of an elementary school in Ho Chi Minh City for illegal collection

TPO - Based on parents' complaints about the "network system equipment" fee at Le Ngoc Han Primary School (Ben Thanh Ward), the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has stepped in to verify and request the principal to be held accountable.

The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has just sent a document to the People's Committee of Ben Thanh Ward after receiving feedback from parents about illegal fees collected at Le Ngoc Han Primary School.

Accordingly, on September 18, the Department of Education and Training coordinated with the leaders of the Department of Culture and Society of the People's Committee of Ben Thanh Ward and the school's Board of Directors to verify the content of the incident. According to the report of the Principal of Le Ngoc Han Primary School, the Parents' Representative Board of class 5/2 students of this school has presented a table of expected revenue and expenditure for the year, including the item "equipment and installation of network system for the class".

The Department of Education and Training stated that allowing the class's Parents' Representative Committee to propose the above collection content is not in accordance with Circular 55 of the Ministry of Education and Training .

"This approach has upset parents, created bad public opinion, and affected the reputation of the school and the entire industry," said the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.

Therefore, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requested the People's Committee of Ben Thanh Ward to organize a review of the responsibility of the Principal of Le Ngoc Han Primary School in management work.

The Department also requested the ward People's Committee leaders to develop a plan to review and rectify revenue and expenditure at all educational institutions in the area, promptly handle violations, and avoid similar situations from recurring.
