For the first time in history, all citizens received gifts from the State at the same time, during a special historical moment, the 80th Anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
In recent years, we have occasionally read or heard about this or that country giving gifts to its people on holidays. At that time, many Vietnamese people certainly wished that one day we would have this too. Now it has become a reality.
Of course, in recent years, it is not that the Government does not give gifts to the people, does not care about people's lives, does not care about social security. The "giving" in recent times has been done through different forms. For example: Policies on hunger eradication, poverty reduction, care for policy families, investment in social welfare projects, policies to support the elderly from 80 years old (now from 75 years old) and above without pensions...
However, those policies are either for a specific target group or for a certain project that people, if not careful and not paying attention, will not feel. But now, the gift is given to all Vietnamese people. Although the material value is not great, the spiritual meaning is extremely great.
The fact that all people receive the same gifts is a message that the Vietnamese Party and State want to convey - that every Vietnamese person, no matter where they are or what they do, is respected and remembered. This is like a "medicine" to stimulate national spirit, arouse patriotism and compatriotism.
With a total estimated budget of over 10,000 billion VND to share with the entire population, it is clearly a large number in the context of limited national resources and we are in dire need of budget resources to carry out other tasks. However, with the country's position and strength today, with what the entire Vietnamese people have strived for over the past 80 years, this is the time to converge all the most favorable conditions for the Party and State to carry out this gift giving.
As mentioned, the social impact of this gift-giving is huge, without question, but the economic impact is also not small. In Vietnam today, there are certainly many people who are well-off and wealthy enough not to rely on the State's 100,000 VND gift, but for many people, this is also a gift of material significance.
Today, there are still tens of millions of people in remote, isolated, and border areas who face many difficulties in life. There are still millions of workers in enterprises, especially in industrial zones, facing many difficulties.
Surely there will be many people who do not care about this gift and then there may be people who receive the gift but give it to the Vietnam Fatherland Front, to humanitarian social organizations for charity, but for many people this will also be an expected gift. Suppose for a two-generation family of 4 people, the gift received on this occasion is 400 thousand VND. This is a gift with a certain material value.
When receiving this gift, many people will use it for spending, shopping, especially shopping for essentials during the national holidays. This will help stimulate shopping, consumption, making economic activities more vibrant.
Looking at the figure of 100 thousand VND/person, we realize that taking care of more than 100 million people is not an easy task. It is a tireless effort, a great demand for resources, will and consensus. From here, each citizen will also see more clearly their responsibility to the country: the responsibility to study, work, create and contribute to build a strong and prosperous Fatherland.
It can be seen that this is a decision that not only has a profound social impact, but also a positive economic impact. But, above all, it is the decision to give gifts to the entire population on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day. Surely this will be an unforgettable memory in everyone's life.
