178,124 students in Quang Tri province enter the new school year 2024

Tomorrow morning, September 5, along with the whole country, 398 schools in Quang Tri province joyfully welcome 178,124 students, including 41,880 first-grade students, to the opening ceremony of the new school year 2024-2025.

On the eve of the new school year, the education and training sector has been actively implementing solutions to mobilize students to go to school, especially in mountainous and disadvantaged areas; educational institutions, together with all levels and sectors, have increased their proximity to the area, and promoted propaganda to mobilize students and parents to send their children to school.

In preparation for the new school year, in recent times, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province has paid attention to and prepared the necessary conditions, ready to serve teaching and learning. The scale of the school and class network has been planned and arranged in a streamlined and efficient manner, creating favorable conditions for students to go to school. The entire education sector has 398 preschool, general education and vocational education - continuing education facilities.

As of May 31, 2024, the province has a total of 13,914 managers, teachers, employees, and contract workers. The team of teachers and educational managers has developed in both quantity and quality, basically ensuring the requirements of teaching and organizing educational activities.

Up to now, the investment in educational facilities and equipment has been increased towards standardization. The rate of solid classrooms at all levels has increased: Preschool reached 59.18%, primary school reached 82.61%, secondary school reached 96.85% and high school reached 100%. The Department has deployed the purchase of equipment packages under the 2018 General Education Program for ethnic boarding and semi-boarding schools; purchased teaching equipment for primary school; purchased specialized equipment for high school subject classrooms, and minimum teaching equipment for high school. The invested equipment has gradually ensured teaching and learning at educational institutions.

The Quang Tri education sector has identified the theme for the 2024-2025 school year as: "Discipline, responsibility, innovation, improving the quality of education and training", and at the same time, implementing 16 key groups of tasks. In particular, continuing to effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program according to the roadmap, ensuring progress and quality. Improving teachers' responsibility and ethics; strengthening moral education, lifestyle, life skills, legal education, physical education for students, ensuring school safety.

Review planning and rearrange the scale and network of educational facilities. Improve the quality of teachers and educational managers at all levels to meet the requirements of educational innovation. Improve the quality of education, effectively implement preschool, general education and continuing education programs; promote career orientation and student streaming after junior high school.

Implement digital transformation and promote the application of IT in teaching, learning and educational management. Continue to mobilize investment resources, strengthen facilities to ensure the quality of educational and training activities and implement the 2018 General Education Program.
