2 athletes were called up to the national Kurash team

Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: Binh Thuan has 2 athletes training at the National Sports Training Center in Hanoi, to prepare forces to participate in the 6th Indoor Sports Games and major international competitions in 2024.

According to the schedule, the Department of Sports and Physical Training plans to train the national Kurash team for 5 months ( from June 15 to November 15 , 2024 ) at the National Sports Training Center in Hanoi . The two athletes summoned are Nguyen Nhac Nhu An and Nguyen Thanh Hoan.

  Kurash   Kurash is one of the oldest wrestling disciplines in the world , originating from 2,500 - 3,500 years ago. Kurash focuses more on physical strength and muscle than on complex techniques and tactics. Kurash's rules are somewhat similar to Judo. The wrestler wins when he makes his opponent fall to the floor using wrestling techniques with both hands from the waist up of the opponent.

Strikes, chokes and wrestling below the belt are prohibited. These elements make Kurash a dramatic and beautiful sport for spectators and safe for the fighters.
