An Cuu Ward held a conference to deploy the plan to build a "drug-free ward"

Party Secretary, Chairwoman of the People's Council of An Cuu Ward, Duong Thi Thu Thuy, emphasized: "Agencies, units and all people in the ward need to join hands and promote the strength of the nationwide movement to prevent and combat drugs. Each citizen is a soldier, each family, agency and organization is a fortress, contributing to realizing the goal of building a "drug-free ward" in the period of 2025 - 2030".

Currently, in An Cuu ward, there are 35 drug addicts, 9 people under post-treatment management, 20 illegal drug users and 21 cases of psychosis due to "stoned". Worryingly, the use of synthetic drugs tends to increase among teenagers, while drug rehabilitation and post-treatment support work still has many shortcomings and is not very effective.

The People's Committee of An Cuu Ward has proposed a plan with many specific solutions: Mobilizing the combined strength of the entire political system and the people to participate in drug prevention and control; fighting and destroying crimes and drug rings; strengthening drug addiction treatment, rehabilitation, and supporting community reintegration for addicts; at the same time, promoting propaganda and raising awareness among people, especially young people, about the harmful effects of drugs. The goal is that by 2030, An Cuu will become a "drug-free" area.
