An Cuu deploys the construction of a "drug-free ward" in the period 2025 - 2030

HNN.VN - According to the plan to build a "drug-free ward" in the 2025 - 2030 period, An Cuu ward strives to have at least 30% of residential groups meeting the "drug-free" criteria by 2025; by 2030, to become a "drug-free" area.

Agencies, units and schools in An Cuu ward signed a commitment to prevent and combat drugs.

Currently, the whole ward has 35 addicts, 9 people under post-rehab management, 20 illegal drug users and 21 cases of psychosis due to "stoned". The use of synthetic drugs tends to increase among teenagers, while drug rehabilitation and post-rehab support have not achieved the desired results, negatively affecting security, order and socio -economic development of the locality.

To gradually push back drug abuse, the People's Committee of An Cuu Ward has proposed many solutions, such as: Mobilizing the combined strength of the political system and the people to participate in drug prevention and control; destroying criminals and drug rings; strengthening drug addiction treatment, rehabilitation, and supporting community reintegration; promoting propaganda and raising awareness among people, especially young people, about the harmful effects of drugs.

An Cuu Ward has determined the motto of "prevention is the main thing, blocking supply and reducing demand is the key"; implementing tasks with the principle of "clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities, clear time, clear results, clear authority". The heads of Party committees, authorities, agencies and units are directly responsible for the drug situation in their areas; if complicated developments occur, they will be considered and disciplined.

The ward will review the population characteristics, security and order situation; count the number of addicts, post-rehab people, illegal drug users and business establishments with conditions that are prone to social evils for management. At the same time, strengthen the community review team, evaluate the effectiveness of propaganda models, classify them for replication or adjustment.

The ward established consulting groups, supported voluntary drug addiction treatment in the community, managed drug users and post-treatment patients; ensured that each patient had a responsible officer. Departments, branches and organizations strengthened the management of drug addicts and illegal drug users; supported drug addiction treatment, created jobs and helped them reintegrate into the community.
