NDO - On the evening of May 6, at Lang Le Cultural Park, Le Minh Xuan Commune, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, the flower lantern releasing ceremony took place during the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival.

This is one of the important spiritual rituals within the framework of the United Nations Vesak Day 2025.

The event attracted about 12,000 attendees, with 35,000 lanterns lit, creating a magical, shimmering space.

The festival begins with a meditation ritual around the lake and chanting prayers led by monks and nuns.

At Minh Chau Lecture Hall, monks, nuns and Buddhists lit the flower lanterns in their hands.

Flower lanterns symbolize the light of Buddhist wisdom, dispelling ignorance and guiding people to the path of goodness.

With each lantern lit, each person prays to send a good thought, a peaceful thought for themselves and for everyone.

Each lamp in hand is a symbol of light that erases all suffering, together building a beautiful life.

This is not only a sacred occasion for monks and Buddhists, but also a symbol of the spirit of peace and compassion spreading throughout the community.

Thousands of lotus lanterns are gently released into the still lake to the sound of bells and the spread of prayers.
