Ba Ria- Vung Tau: Announcement of the third subject for the 10th grade exam in the 2025 school year

The Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has issued a document announcing the third exam subject for admission to grade 10 of high school and establishing admission criteria for grade 6 of junior high school in the 2025 - 2026 school year.

On January 16, the Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province sent a document to the heads of the Department of Education and Training of districts, towns and cities; principals of high schools; directors of continuing education centers on announcing the third exam subject for admission to grade 10 of high school and building admission criteria for grade 6 of junior high school in the 2025 - 2026 school year.

Accordingly, the entrance exam for grade 10 high school will remain stable with three subjects: literature, math and English. Of which, the literature exam will be in essay format, with a duration of 120 minutes.

Math is a combination of multiple choice and essay tests (multiple choice accounts for 30%, essay accounts for 70% of total test score), test time is 120 minutes.

English subject combines multiple choice and written test, the test consists of 2 parts: multiple choice test accounts for 60% of total test score (taken on multiple choice answer sheet) and written test (with listening content) accounts for 40% of total test score (taken on test paper), test time is 60 minutes.

Candidates taking the entrance exam to Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, in addition to the three exams: math, literature, and English, must take a fourth exam on their desired specialized subject (the Department of Education and Training will have specific instructions). The exam content follows the 2018 General Education program.

Regarding 6th grade admission, the Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province requested the heads of the local Department of Education and Training to base on actual conditions to develop principles and criteria for admission. In case the number of registered students exceeds the quota for secondary schools, or the school recruits 6th grade students from the source, the Department of Education and Training needs to develop specific criteria and plans for testing and assessing students' abilities in various forms to implement fair, public, transparent admission, suitable to actual conditions.
