Hard work harvesting summer-autumn rice to avoid the storm

Mr. Mai Van Hoa (Quang Dien commune) said that the low-lying area, which is the "flood center" of Hue city, so people had to race against time to save the rice before the storm hit, accompanied by heavy rain.

"Now people are sitting on fire, just hoping to harvest the rice and bring it home before storm No. 5 makes landfall. Harvesting the rice 5 days to 1 week earlier than the season will affect the yield and quality of the rice. But if they don't harvest, the storm will hit and break the rice, then heavy rain will cause flooding, the rice will sprout and be lost," said Mr. Hoa.
