Like WinMart, GO! supermarket (Tan Tien ward) has been applying the business of fresh food products such as vegetables, tubers, fruits... packaged in biodegradable nylon bags. In addition, organic rice and coffee products on sale are also receiving support from manufacturers to convert non-degradable packaging materials to paper packaging. These are specific examples showing that green, sustainable production and consumption are completely feasible, especially when businesses combine technological solutions with communication to change consumer behavior.

One of the key factors of a green city is green transportation. The transition to clean energy vehicles, especially electric vehicles, is taking place strongly in Bac Ninh. Since the end of August 2023, two standard electric taxi services, Green SM Taxi and high-end electric taxi services, Green SM Luxury, have officially come into operation in Bac Ninh province (old) with a scale of 200 vehicles. To date, Green SM Bac Ninh has grown to more than 700 vehicles and expanded its service area to rural areas. In Bac Giang province (old), in June 2024, the first electric taxi service was also deployed through a cooperation agreement between GSM and Huong Giang Taxi Transport Cooperative, purchasing and leasing 300 VinFast VF 5 Plus vehicles until the end of 2025.
Currently, people in the province are tending to switch to using green, environmentally friendly means of transport. The owner of the YADE electric vehicle dealership on Than Nhan Trung Street, Viet Yen Ward said that in the first 8 months of 2025, sales increased by about 20% over the same period, showing consumers' trust in green means of transport.
At the end of August, the Department of Construction officially opened the Vu Ninh - Bac Giang bus route, the first green bus route in the province, in line with the trend of developing modern public transport with the following criteria: Prioritizing environmentally friendly vehicles, developing a large-volume transport network and integrating with urban planning, encouraging people to use it instead of personal vehicles, thereby reducing congestion, traffic accidents and protecting the environment.
Mr. Dang Tien Manh, Chairman of Thao Manh Transport Trading Company - the route operator, affirmed that the operation of the Vu Ninh - Bac Giang electric bus route contributes to improving the quality of public passenger transport services, demonstrating the commitment to developing green transport, minimizing environmental pollution, promoting inter-regional connectivity; contributing to making Bac Ninh a dynamic development center of the capital region and the whole country.
In addition, Bac Ninh province is promoting the implementation of the Bac Ninh - Noi Bai bus route (BN-E07) connecting Bac Ninh Bus Station and Noi Bai Airport, which is also expected to use 12 electric buses with a capacity of 61 passengers or more. In the future, the province is planning to convert bus routes using fossil fuels to electric buses.
Green logistics - new driving force for services
Along with trade and transportation, green logistics is considered a spearhead to promote green growth in Bac Ninh. Advantages such as river port system, inland ports, regional transportation network and in the future Gia Binh International Airport are the foundation for Bac Ninh to form modern logistics centers with regional competitiveness. In particular, the province prioritizes investment in green ports, using clean energy; building environmentally friendly transport corridors and supply chains; applying digital technology in e-commerce logistics management.

The development of e-commerce has led to the need for green logistics such as last-mile delivery and sustainable urban transport. Experts say that in order for many businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, to participate, Bac Ninh needs a clear roadmap, appropriate support policies and mechanisms to encourage vehicle conversion.
From production, consumption, trade, transportation to logistics, Bac Ninh is taking specific steps in greening the service industry. To achieve long-term effectiveness, there needs to be synchronous coordination between the government, businesses and people; along with long-term, consistent policies and roadmaps. Greening services will be a requirement for sustainable development, a competitive advantage of the province in integration, towards becoming a modern, livable economic - service center.
