Bamboo Airways will add 2 aircraft to serve the Tet peak season

Bamboo Airways has just announced that it has signed a contract to lease two Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft to serve the peak season of New Year and Lunar New Year.

The airline will operate two more leased Airbus aircraft from January 1, 2024, increasing its fleet to 15-18 aircraft to focus on strengthening its domestic flight network. This is also the first time Bamboo Airways has added aircraft since restructuring in the middle of this year.

At the same time, the airline will operate more international charter flights to improve operational efficiency.

Bamboo Airways has recently restructured its flight network and fleet to reduce costs. The airline has stopped operating its wide-body fleet of Boeing Dreamliner B787s and reduced a large number of narrow-body aircraft.

"The successful leasing of two aircraft and increasing capacity to serve the Tet peak season affirms Bamboo Airways' recovery efforts, as well as demonstrates the trust of partners in the airline's existence and development," said a Bamboo Airways representative.

The addition of two aircraft will help the airline increase its capacity by 20% during the New Year and Lunar New Year holidays. The airline said it will focus on increasing the frequency of flights on key routes such as Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City and between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, and Hai Phong.

Today, Vietnam Airlines also announced an increase of more than 100,000 seats, equivalent to nearly 550 flights for the peak Lunar New Year period (January 25 to February 24, 2024, from the 15th of December to the 15th of January).

The additional flights focus on routes between Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi and these two localities with Da Nang, Hai Phong, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hue, Da Lat, Can Tho, Nha Trang, Phu Yen , and Phu Quoc.
