The house cost more than 70 million VND to build. Of this, the Vietnam Diamond Community Fund (DCI) supported 50 million VND, the remaining amount was borrowed by Ms. Lan from many different sources.

Ms. Lan's family is a near-poor household in the commune, with extremely difficult circumstances: her husband died of a serious illness early, her children work far away, and she herself has had to live in a seriously degraded house for many years but has no means to rebuild it.

Leaders of the Provincial Women's Union and representatives of the Vietnam Diamond Energy Community Fund presented support money to Ms. Doan Thi Lan.

The completion and handover of the "Shelter of Love" helps Ms. Lan's family stabilize their housing, giving them more motivation to improve their lives, and at the same time demonstrates the care and sharing of the Women's Union at all levels and philanthropists for women and children in difficult circumstances.
