Retail sales of goods and service revenue increased by 9.4% in 8 months

Total retail sales of goods and consumer services revenue in the first 8 months of 2025 is estimated at VND 4,579 trillion, up 9.4% over the same period last year.

According to a report released by the General Statistics Office on September 6, in August, events and activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day were held on a large scale, contributing to boosting consumption of goods, services and tourism .

Total retail sales of goods and consumer services revenue at current prices in August is estimated at VND588.2 trillion, up 2.6% over the previous month and up 10.6% over the same period last year.

Of which, revenue from the garment group increased by 13.7% over the same period last year; food and foodstuffs increased by 12.3%; household appliances, tools and equipment increased by 10.4%; accommodation and catering services increased by 13.2% and tourism and travel increased by 15.2%.

In the first 8 months of 2025, the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue at current prices is estimated at VND 4,579 trillion, an increase of 9.4% over the same period last year (the same period in 2024 increased by 8.9%), if excluding the price factor, it increased by 7.2% (the same period in 2024 increased by 8%).

Retail sales of goods in the first 8 months of 2025 are estimated at VND 3,495.8 trillion, accounting for 76.3% of the total and increasing by 8.1% over the same period last year. Of which, food and foodstuffs increased by 10.1%; cultural and educational products increased by 7.4%; garments increased by 7.3%; household appliances, tools and equipment increased by 6.7%.

Retail sales of goods in the first 8 months of 2025 compared to the same period last year in some localities are as follows: Da Nang increased by 9.4%; Can Tho increased by 8.6%; Hanoi increased by 8.2%; Ho Chi Minh City increased by 8.1%; Hai Phong increased by 8%.
