US newspaper reveals, Hamas holds information about Israeli military bases and weapons

On October 13, the WSJ (US) reported that members of the Islamic Hamas movement had detailed maps of cities and military bases as well as information about "weak points on Israeli army armored vehicles".

WSJ reporters analyzed documents collected from the sites of Hamas attacks, as well as personal items found on the bodies of Hamas fighters, the source said.

The detailed instructions, written in Arabic, showed that Hamas had carefully planned and gathered intelligence, according to the newspaper. Former Israeli military intelligence officer Michael Milshtein said: “They knew exactly what the target would be.”

One of the documents, labeled “top secret” in Arabic and dated June 15, 2023, shows a specific plan to infiltrate the Mefalsim community in southern Israel, located near the Gaza Strip.

The 14-page document contains maps and aerial photographs, along with information about the community's population of about 1,000 people and the volunteer security force that guards the area.

According to this secret document, because of the nearby base, the Israeli army could arrive “within 3-5 minutes”. In addition, the plan also included the mission of taking hostages to negotiate.
