On the afternoon of November 1, the Political Department of Military Region 7 held a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the tradition of Military Region 7 Newspaper (November 1, 1963 - November 1, 2023) and receive the Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal.

The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Commander of the Military Region; Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Region; Heads and former Heads of the Military Region Command; representatives of agencies, units, and localities; retired officers, editors, reporters, and employees of the Military Region 7 Newspaper, who have changed their professions or work units...

This is an opportunity for generations of cadres, editors, reporters and staff of Military Region 7 Newspaper and the Political Department to review the process of building, fighting and growing up, continue to inherit and promote glorious traditions, and excellently complete tasks in the new period.

The Liberation Army Newspaper (now Military Zone 7 Newspaper) published its first issue on November 1, 1963, during the arduous and challenging years on the battlefield in the Southeast region and was warmly welcomed by the people and soldiers. The newspaper's reporters bravely fought on the front lines against the enemy, with the most realistic and vivid news and images about the just war; together with the entire army and people, they achieved many resounding victories.

During the period of peace , building and defending the Fatherland, Military Region 7 Newspaper has inherited the glorious tradition and continued to perform well the agency's tasks in new conditions.

Reviewing the glorious tradition of Military Zone 7 Newspaper, Colonel Nguyen Nhu Truc, Deputy Chief of Political Department of Military Zone 7, shared that generations of cadres, reporters, and editors of Military Zone 7 Newspaper always uphold their bravery and will to strive, and work hard to build the glorious tradition, creating the position and prestige of Military Zone 7 Newspaper today. At the same time, remember and engrave the merits of heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers who are cadres, reporters, and employees of Military Zone 7 Newspaper who sacrificed their blood and bones for the cause of journalism and propaganda.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc, Standing Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Region, praised the achievements and feats that the Military Region 7 Newspaper has achieved over the past 60 years. The newspaper has directly contributed to the propaganda of ideological orientation and public opinion among cadres, soldiers and people; refuted wrong views and ideologies, and together with the armed forces of the Military Region successfully completed the task of protecting the Fatherland in the new period.

Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc expressed that the Party Committee, the Military Region Command, officers and soldiers of the Military Region's armed forces always understand and share the difficulties and hardships; at the same time, always follow and actively support the Military Region Newspaper to continuously grow and develop.
