On September 30, heavy rain in Quoc Oai commune caused localized flooding in many areas, causing difficulties for people's lives and school activities.

Due to the impact of storm No. 10 causing heavy rain from the night of September 29 to September 30, many main traffic routes and residential areas in the commune were partially flooded. Notably, a number of schools were affected, causing difficulties in traveling and potential danger for students, such as: Thach Than Secondary School, Yen Son Secondary School, Yen Son Primary School, Sai Son Secondary School and Sai Son C Kindergarten. In this situation, the Board of Directors of the schools reported to the Commune People's Committee and allowed students to temporarily stop going to school to ensure safety and at the same time fix the problem.

Notably, at Sai Son Secondary School, heavy rain and strong winds caused about 60m of the surrounding wall in the school grounds to collapse. Fortunately, the incident occurred outside of school hours so there were no casualties.

After checking the flooding situation, Chairman of the People's Committee Nguyen Trung Thanh requested relevant units to urgently coordinate with schools to organize the drainage, handle flooding, leaking roofs and cracked plaster in classrooms, and ensure timely drainage in the following rainy days.

Regarding the wall collapse incident at Sai Son Secondary School, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee Nguyen Trung Thanh directed the school to quickly clean up and temporarily barricade the dangerous area; at the same time, assigned the Project Management Board and the Economic Department to develop a remedial plan to ensure safety for students when they return to school.
