(QNgTV) - On the morning of September 30, the Supervisory Delegation of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Committee had a working session with the Department of Health on the care and nurturing of social protection cases at public social assistance facilities in the province.

Currently, in the province, there are 3 public facilities with the function of caring for and nurturing children in special circumstances, homeless elderly people, people with disabilities, and people with mental illness. Of which, the Quang Ngai Provincial Social Work Center cares for and nurtures 157 people. The Kon Tum Social Work Center cares for 133 people. The Kon Tum Mental Illness Treatment and Care Center treats and nurtures 32 people. Social protection beneficiaries at the centers enjoy all the regimes and policies prescribed by the Party and the State. The centers closely coordinate with educational institutions so that children in special circumstances have the conditions to study.

The Department of Health recommends that the Monitoring Team of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Committee give opinions so that the Provincial People's Committee can consider supporting funding for purchasing equipment, vehicles and upgrading facilities at social assistance facilities. Allocate sufficient human resources compared to the assigned targets at the centers. Authorize the Department of Health to order public service prices using the state budget in the field of social assistance in the province so that the centers have a basis for implementation.

Head of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Committee, Dao Duy Khanh, highly appreciated the implementation of social assistance policies at public social assistance facilities in the province. In the coming time, the Department of Health will continue to pay attention to and strengthen the implementation, consultation, and proposal to the Provincial People's Committee in directing the implementation of policies to ensure correct, sufficient, and timely support for disadvantaged people in need of social assistance. Promote socialization, mobilize social resources to promptly provide material and spiritual support, and help social protection cases to reduce difficulties in life. Regarding the recommendations of the Department of Health, the monitoring team acknowledged and recommended the Provincial People's Committee to consider and resolve them according to its authority.
