On September 29, at Dung Quat Oil Refinery, the 8th Congress of BSR Youth Union, term 2025-2030, took place.
Attending the Congress were comrade Ho Thi Thu Thanh - Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Youth Union; and representatives of the Youth Union of Van Tuong, Binh Son, Dong Son communes (Quang Ngai). The Congress was also attended by comrade Pham Dang An - Secretary of the Youth Union of the Vietnam National Energy Industry Group ( Petrovietnam ); comrade Bui Ngoc Duong - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BSR; comrade Khuong Le Thanh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors of BSR; comrade Pham Minh Nghia - Deputy General Director of BSR; representatives of the Youth Union of units under Petrovietnam and many outstanding members and youths of the BSR Youth Union.
Many positive marks in the 2022-2025 term
During the past term, BSR Youth Union has actively innovated propaganda and education work with new forms according to the needs of union members, youth and the digital transformation process, applying artificial intelligence in enterprises. In addition to seminars, BSR Youth Union also actively organized specialized conferences to deploy the development of corporate culture. In particular, BSR Youth Union has completed 100% of the target of deploying and installing the Union Member Management software and building, making the most of the power of social networks through promoting propaganda and sharing work.
BSR Youth Union has also promoted pioneering activities in social security work at the unit. Notable activities include organizing visits and giving gifts to families of policy beneficiaries, wounded soldiers, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and former political prisoners on July 27; giving gifts on the occasion of the traditional New Year to children in difficult circumstances and building houses of gratitude... Thereby, more than 3.93 billion VND has been implemented by BSR Youth Union with the tradition of "Mutual love and affection", "The healthy leaves cover the torn leaves".
In addition, the BSR Youth Union has organized the program "BSR - Creative Youth". From 2022 to 2024, the BSR Youth Union recorded a total of 458 ideas, kaizens, and initiatives registered and 216 kaizens, ideas, and initiatives recognized. Up to now, the unit has had 5 grassroots youth projects, 2 projects at the Central Enterprise Youth Union level, 8 projects at the Group Youth Union level, with a total benefit value of over 14.5 billion VND.
During the 5th general maintenance of Dung Quat Refinery, BSR Youth Union promoted the pioneering role of youth in supporting security and safety work and achieved many practical results. At the same time, actively worked with the grassroots Trade Union to care for and encourage employees directly at the Factory through providing drinking water and supplementary food between shifts, helping employees have enough health to work at an intensity of 12 hours/day.
During the past term, the BSR Youth Union has also promoted its role in accompanying young people in studying, developing skills, and improving their professional skills. Thereby, it has achieved many high achievements in competitions at the facility and the Group. At the same time, the BSR Youth Union also launched a self-study movement to improve skills and professional qualifications; promoted scientific research, specialized seminars to share experiences in scientific research organized by the Research and Development Youth Union, and introduced members to participate in courses to improve scientific research skills.
Join hands to create green and sustainable development for BSR
Promoting the vanguard role in the 2025-2030 term, BSR Youth Union proposed the action slogan "BSR Youth - Aspiration to reach far, steadfast spirit, innovative intelligence, joining hands to create green and sustainable development of BSR". In particular, BSR Youth Union proposed the development direction of continuing to consolidate and build the Youth Union organization; innovating the content and methods of political education, ideals, revolutionary ethics; strongly promoting the creativity, intelligence, vanguard spirit of the youth and mastering science and technology in the Petrochemical industry.
In the new term, BSR Youth Union aims to carry out 4 youth projects at the Government level, 5 youth projects at the Group level, and 15 youth projects at the grassroots level. At the same time, strive to carry out at least 1 youth project at the Central level of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and have 100 topics, initiatives, innovative ideas, and solutions applied in studying, working, production, business, and services. At the same time, organize 5 forums, seminars, and at least 3 training sessions on Youth Union work. BSR Youth Union also registered 5 Youth Union branches to carry out typical oil and gas Youth Union branches and introduced 75 outstanding Youth Union members to the Party for consideration and admission, striving for 50 comrades to be admitted to the Party.
In particular, BSR Union will support and organize material and spiritual care for 100 union members, youths and workers; carry out social security activities, support disadvantaged localities with a minimum amount of 2 billion VND. In addition, organize medical examinations and give medicine to 1,500 people in difficult circumstances in mountainous areas; carry out the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses with 5 houses.
Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Pham Dang An - Secretary of the Petrovietnam Youth Union praised and highly appreciated the achievements of the BSR Youth Union in the past time. With 14 targets on Youth Union projects set out for the 2022-2027 term, the BSR Youth Union has excellently achieved 13 targets in just over 2 years. In the new term, the Secretary of the Petrovietnam Youth Union suggested that BSR focus on researching and specifically evaluating the set targets. In particular, continue to research specific, breakthrough targets, closely linked to the unit's production and business activities, thereby continuing to promote the pioneering and proactive role, actively contributing to the sustainable development of BSR.
“Right from the first year of the Congress (2022), you had 3 outstanding works honored at the National Youth Innovation Awards with a total of 7 awards of the Group honored that year. This is a very honorable achievement and it can be said that the BSR Youth Union continues to be one of the pillars of the Petrovietnam Youth Union”, Comrade Pham Dang An emphasized.
Also at the Congress, Comrade Bui Ngoc Duong - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BSR highly appreciated the activities of the BSR Youth Union in the past term. At the same time, the Secretary of the BSR Party Committee also emphasized the role of the BSR Youth Union in the new development stage of the Company. In particular, BSR youth need to continue to promote their pioneering role in the company's activities, especially in ensuring safe operation, operation and maintenance of the Factory... At the same time, promote the core role in research, innovation and improvement activities; promote the proposal of ideas and initiatives to contribute to the implementation of the Company's green and sustainable development goals.
“I believe that having a young, enthusiastic, knowledgeable successor team... in the context of science and technology having breakthrough changes and you comrades being pioneers, will be the right-hand man of the Party Committee. We have high expectations for you,” comrade Bui Ngoc Duong emphasized.
The 8th Congress of the BSR Youth Union for the 2025-2030 term also passed the Congress Resolution and elected a new Executive Committee. Through democratic and transparent elections, the Congress elected the 8th BSR Youth Union Executive Committee consisting of 14 comrades, 4 official delegates, and 1 alternate delegate to attend the 6th Petrovietnam Youth Union Congress for the 2025-2030 term. At the 1st Conference, the Youth Union Executive Committee also elected comrade Nguyen Lan Huong as Secretary of the Youth Union and comrade Nguyen Le Long as Deputy Secretary of the BSR Youth Union for the 2025-2030 term.
The Congress also honored the contributions of comrades in the Executive Committee of the BSR Youth Union, term VII, 2022-2027. At the same time, it commended collectives and individuals who had made positive contributions to the activities of the BSR Youth Union in the past term.
