In the first 6 months of 2025, the province continued to implement many solutions to protect brands for products, such as: The program to develop intellectual property rights in the province until 2030; guiding localities to register for intellectual property rights (IPR) protection for products under the program "One commune, one product" (OCOP). Thereby, it guided 12 organizations and individuals to register trademarks with a support level of over 830 million VND according to Resolution No. 313/2020/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council. Many products are protected by IPR, helping to increase commercial value, expand the consumer market and increase income for people.

In the context of the current administrative reorganization, many collective trademarks and geographical indications are at risk of being affected due to changes in administrative place names; the Department of Science and Technology has promptly advised on handling and guiding the updating of information on protection certificates. However, some localities are still slow in handing over documents, even losing documents, affecting the progress of protecting intellectual property rights for local products.

To overcome this, in the coming time, the Department of Science and Technology will continue to urge and guide communes and wards to review and complete dossiers; at the same time, organize training courses to raise awareness and skills in registering, managing and exploiting intellectual property rights for individuals, organizations and businesses. The key tasks in the last 6 months of 2025 are that the Department will continue to implement the program for developing intellectual property rights; training on intellectual property registration; guiding organizations and individuals to register intellectual property rights; guiding owners of protection certificates to carry out procedures to change information due to the impact of changes in administrative locations.

IP is a “shield” to protect creativity, but without quality, the brand will find it difficult to maintain its vitality. Therefore, the province has been implementing activities to control and standardize product quality seriously and systematically.

Implementing the direction of the central government and the province, the Department of Science and Technology coordinated to inspect 22 business establishments, focusing on petroleum products, electrical - electronic - telecommunication equipment, and consumer goods in many localities in the province. The inspection team discovered and fined 2 establishments 21 million VND for violating product labels and regulations on building, applying, and maintaining quality management systems.

Along with the inspection work, the Department has promoted the inspection and calibration of measuring instruments. In the first 6 months of the year, more than 2,500 measuring devices were inspected, contributing to ensuring accuracy and transparency in commercial transactions, especially in civil transactions such as gasoline, electricity and water.

The quality management system according to national standard TCVN ISO 9001:2015 continues to be consulted, guided and applied in administrative agencies and public organizations in the province. This not only helps units improve their management capacity, but also contributes to administrative reform, effectively serving the 2-level local government model.

Intellectual property and quality standards are becoming increasingly familiar and practical for businesses and local authorities; helping products increase their value and affirm their position in the market. When products are registered for protection, have traceability and clear quality management, businesses will feel secure in production and market expansion. Consumers will also feel more confident when choosing.
