Barcelona have found an unexpected way out to speed up the registration process for players who do not yet have a La Liga license: parting ways with Inigo Martinez.
The 34-year-old centre-back was a key cog in Hansi Flick's first season, winning the La Liga and Copa del Rey double.

Inigo agreed to move to Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr , where Cristiano Ronaldo is playing and has just welcomed Joao Felix.
One of the important conditions was that Inigo had to leave on a free transfer. Barca accepted, as a way of thanking him for his professional attitude during his time at the club.
In addition, this also helps Barca reduce the burden of the wage bill by up to 14 million euros (before tax), paving the way for registering a series of new players: Joan Garcia, Wojciech Szczesny, Gerard Martin, Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji - who was initially recruited for the B team but is making a strong impression on Flick.
Inigo Martinez's departure also partly helps Barca "cool down" the escalating crisis with Marc-Andre ter Stegen - who refused to allow sharing his medical records with La Liga's Medical Commission.
Faced with such a tough attitude, Barca has just taken more drastic action: not only opening an internal investigation, but also officially stripping Ter Stegen of the captaincy – at least temporarily.
Ronald Araujo was appointed as a replacement, but it is worth mentioning that this decision was made without consultation with the players in the team.
