Arrest of a subject who stole property of foreign tourists at Cua Dai beach

(Chinhphu.vn) - After nearly 1 hour of receiving the report, with the support of the people, the police force of Hoi An Dong ward, Da Nang arrested 2 subjects who stole property of foreign tourists at Cua Dai beach.

At 3:45 p.m. on July 26, Hoi An Dong Ward Police received information from the people about a foreign tourist having his cell phone stolen while he was leaving it on a wooden chair at Cua Dai beach while he was swimming.

As soon as the incident was discovered, this tourist shouted and chased after the two subjects. At the same time, with the support of the people, one of the two subjects was arrested and taken to the police station to report.

Subjects at the police station

At the police station, the suspect confessed to being Trinh Vinh Phuc (born in 2005), residing in Dien Ban ward, Da Nang. At the same time, the ward police also preliminarily determined the identity and background of the escaped suspect.

Believing that the suspect would return, the ward police assigned patrol forces to surround and capture him, and organized an ambush to intercept him.

At 4:45 p.m. the same day, the Hoi An Dong Ward Police Working Group arrested Phuc's accomplice, Le Duc Thien Bao (born in 2006), also residing in Dien Ban Ward, Da Nang, when he returned to the scene to retrieve his vehicle and brought him to the ward police headquarters for questioning.

At the police station, the two suspects confessed: On July 26, Le Duc Thien Bao drove a motorbike with license plate 92AA-369.05 carrying Trinh Vinh Phuc through the routes from Dien Ban to Hoi An Dong with the purpose of finding property to steal.

At around 3:00 p.m. the same day, when arriving at Cua Dai beach area, Bao and Phuc stopped the car, sat down on a stone bench and discovered a foreigner leaving his phone on a wooden bench and covering it with personal belongings before going down to the beach to swim.

After discussing, the two subjects were discovered and chased by the victim while stealing the phone as mentioned above.

At about 4:45 p.m. the same day, Bao returned to get his motorbike and was arrested by the Ward Police Working Group. It is known that Le Duc Thien Bao had just been released from prison in November 2024 for the crime of "Murder".
