On June 10, information from the Ha Long City Police Department said that this unit has just initiated a case and arrested Nguyen Xuan Tan (27 years old, residing in Ha Khau Ward, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh ) to investigate the death of a 13-year-old boy suspected of being abused.
Previously, at about 8:15 p.m. on June 4, Ha Long City Police received information that Bai Chay Hospital (Quang Ninh) received patient NTA (13 years old, residing in Kien Xuong District, Thai Binh ) but he had died when arriving at the hospital.
According to doctors at Bai Chay Hospital, NTA had a cardiac arrest before being admitted to the hospital, and had many bruises on both hands.
After receiving information about the incident, Ha Long City Police sent a working group to investigate the case. Initial investigation results showed that because NTA was on summer vacation, her family let her visit her uncle Nguyen Xuan Tan's house since mid-May. Recently, Tan suspected his nephew of stealing money and a phone from his friend, so he used a rope to tie TA's hands to the iron bars of the rented room window.
Not stopping there, Tan continued to use tree branches to hit NTA's legs and did not let her eat or drink, resulting in her death.
Ha Long City Police are continuing to investigate the case.
