Binh Phuoc: Prices of sand and construction stone increase dramatically

The family of Mrs. Duong Thi Tuyet Hanh, residing in Duc Phong town, Bu Dang district, opened a building materials store in 2015. Mrs. Hanh has never witnessed the prices of building materials, specifically the prices of sand and construction stone, increase and fluctuate continuously like today. Mrs. Hanh said: “Dang Ha is no longer allowed to exploit sand, Dak Nong has increased the sand price. Today you get it, tomorrow it increases, in a few hours the price also increases. Now the construction works have already signed contracts with such prices, the prices of sand and stone have increased too much, people do it, they lose money .”

The sudden increase in the price of sand and construction stone has made businesses not dare to import much because buyers are also hesitant to spend money, temporarily stopping construction of projects that are not really essential.

Ms. Duong Thi Tuyet Hanh shared: "If you buy it today, it will increase tomorrow. Even in a few hours, the price can increase."

Commenting on the unusually high price of construction materials, Ms. Le Thi Kim Truc, manager of construction materials facility, Phuoc Tin LLC, Duc Phong town, Bu Dang district said: "Currently, plastering sand is around 1.1-1.2 million VND/ ^m3 , but there is no sand, and there are no more customers because the price is too high."

According to the owners of construction material trading establishments, at the beginning of the year, 1x2 stone, crushed stone, 4x6 stone cost about 340 thousand VND/ ^m3 , now it has increased to 400 thousand VND and is preparing to increase further. Dak Nong sand imported at the beginning of the year cost 420 thousand VND/ ^m3 , now the price of construction sand fluctuates between 1 million VND/ ^m3 - 1.2k/ ^m3 , plaster sand is 1.1 million VND/ ^m3 . Tay Ninh sand costs more than 600 thousand VND/ ^m3 , so many construction material trading households have mixed Tay Ninh sand and Dak Nong sand to find ways to reduce the price of sand, helping people with construction projects to be able to buy sand to complete the project.

Currently, in Binh Phuoc province, there is no longer any unit licensed to exploit sand from Dong Nai river in Dang Ha commune, Bu Dang district. Therefore, construction sand is imported by enterprises mainly from Tay Ninh and Dak Nong provinces.
