Da Nang Border Guards manage and protect Son Cha Island from March 11

(Dan Tri) - After the handover, Hue City Border Guard will withdraw its forces, weapons and equipment from Son Cha Island.

On March 11, at the Chan May Port Border Guard Station (Phu Loc District, Hue City), the Border Guard Commands of Hue City and Da Nang City signed and handed over the task of managing and protecting Son Cha Island.

Hue City Border Guard Command handed over Son Cha Island, the sea area according to the Government 's Resolution and the entire current state of facilities to Da Nang City Border Guard to receive, manage and use.

The Da Nang City Border Guard Command has been responsible for managing and protecting Son Cha Island since March 11.

After the handover conference ends, Hue City Border Guard will withdraw its forces, weapons and equipment from Son Cha Island.

According to the leader of the Hue City Border Guard Command, in recent times, the unit has performed well the task of managing and protecting Son Cha Island, and security and order in the area have always been stable.

Previously, on September 18, 2024, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh signed and issued Resolution No. 144/NQ-CP on determining the administrative boundaries between Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue city) and Da Nang city left by history.

According to the Resolution, the Government decided to hand over Son Cha island to Da Nang city for management.

The Government assigned the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), and the People's Committees of Hue and Da Nang cities to complete the determination of administrative boundaries in the Hai Van mountain area and Son Cha island in the fourth quarter of 2024.
