On the afternoon of September 30, on behalf of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son presented the Prime Minister's decision to receive and appoint Mr. Do Thanh Binh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Minister of Home Affairs .
Congratulating the new Permanent Deputy Minister of Home Affairs on his new assignment, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son assessed Mr. Do Thanh Binh as a leader who grew up from the grassroots, has strong political will, professional qualifications, capacity, and has been well-trained.

He has nearly 40 years of working experience, having held many important leadership positions in Kien Giang province before being assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee in January.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, practical work shows that Mr. Do Thanh Binh has affirmed his leadership and management capacity, is close and decisive, and has a high sense of responsibility. He is also a cadre with pure moral qualities, innovative and creative thinking; constantly strives to strive and excellently completes assigned tasks.
The assignment of Mr. Do Thanh Binh to the position of Permanent Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, demonstrates the great trust and expectation of the Party and State, and is also a very necessary mobilization and strengthening of leadership staff for the Ministry of Home Affairs in the context that the whole country is continuing the revolution of streamlining the apparatus.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Home Affairs sector have a particularly important role and position, as strategic, key, and core advisory bodies of the Party and the Government in building the organizational apparatus, building the contingent of cadres and civil servants, and taking care of the social security system.
Considering that the current context poses heavier tasks and missions for the Home Affairs sector, the Deputy Prime Minister asked the new Permanent Deputy Minister to quickly approach and catch up with the work, focus on leading and directing the implementation of key and focused work.
The Government leaders hope that the new Permanent Deputy Minister will, together with the leadership of the Ministry of Home Affairs, strengthen solidarity, solidarity, close coordination, and promote the spirit of democracy, discipline, strength, and collective intelligence.

In his acceptance speech, Permanent Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Do Thanh Binh thanked the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Government Party Committee, and the Prime Minister for trusting and giving him the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Home Affairs sector, with its 80-year tradition of construction and development.
The new Permanent Deputy Minister of Home Affairs pledged to make every effort, be dedicated, and work with the Party Executive Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Home Affairs to unite and agree to continue to perform well the tasks assigned by the Party, National Assembly, Government, and Prime Minister to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Home Affairs sector.
Mr. Do Thanh Binh was born in 1967, in Thoi Binh district, Ca Mau province. He has a Master's degree in economics.
Mr. Do Thanh Binh is a cadre who grew up from the grassroots, having held many important positions in Kien Giang such as: Deputy Secretary, Secretary of the District Youth Union; Vice Chairman, Chairman of the District People's Committee, Secretary of the Vinh Thuan District Party Committee; Deputy Head of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee; Vice Chairman, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee.
In mid-January, the Politburo decided that Mr. Do Thanh Binh would resign from his position as Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee.
