Ministry of Education and Training reduces 6 cases after restructuring the apparatus

After restructuring and organizing the apparatus, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has 18 units, reduced 6 departments, 1 general department into a department and appointed 30 personnel.

On the evening of March 5, information from the Ministry of Education and Training said that, implementing the Plan of the Steering Committee on Summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the Government , the Ministry of Education and Training submitted to the Government to issue Decree No. 37/2025/ND-CP dated February 26, 2025 stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Accordingly, the organizational structure of the Ministry of Education and Training includes:

1. Department of Preschool Education (remain unchanged)

2. Department of General Education (on the basis of merging the Department of Primary Education and the Department of Secondary Education into the Department of General Education).

3. Department of Higher Education (remain unchanged).

4. Department of National Defense and Security Education (remain unchanged).

5. Department of Students (on the basis of merging the Department of Physical Education and the Department of Political Education and Student Affairs into the Department of Students).

6. Legal Department (remain unchanged).

7. Department of Organization and Personnel (remain unchanged).

8. Department of Planning and Finance (on the basis of merging the Department of Planning and Finance and the Department of Facilities into the Department of Planning and Finance).

9. Office (remain unchanged).

10. Inspector (remain unchanged).

11. Department of Teachers and Educational Managers (remain unchanged).

12. Department of Quality Management (remain unchanged).

13. Department of Science, Technology and Information (on the basis of merging the Department of Science, Technology and Environment and the Department of Information Technology into the Department of Science, Technology and Information).

14. Department of International Cooperation (remain unchanged).

15. Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education (on the basis of reorganizing the General Department of Vocational Education and the Department of Continuing Education into the Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education).

16. Education and Times Newspaper (remain unchanged).

17. Education Magazine (remains).

18. Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences (remain unchanged).

In addition, the Department of Ethnic Education will end its operations and transfer its functions and tasks to appropriate units under the Ministry. Thus, according to Decree No. 37/2025/ND-CP, the Ministry of Education and Training will reduce 6 departments and 1 general department to a department.

Along with that, the Ministry of Education and Training also appointed new personnel after the arrangement, including 30 personnel in charge of 9 departments and offices.
