According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, recently there has been press coverage of unsafe food practices in poultry slaughtering at Hai Boi wholesale market (Dong Anh district). This situation shows lax management by the government and local veterinary authorities.

To immediately end violations at Hai Boi wholesale market and ensure effectiveness in ensuring food safety and health for consumers, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development requests the Hanoi People's Committee to direct relevant departments, branches, and veterinary agencies at all levels in the locality to strictly implement the provisions of veterinary law.

In the coming time, Hanoi authorities need to strengthen inspection and examination work, especially surprise inspection and examination of veterinary and food safety for animal slaughterhouses at wholesale markets; strictly handle and stop the operations of animal slaughterhouses that are not licensed to operate and do not ensure veterinary hygiene and food safety conditions.
