Arrange 81 billion VND to repair National Highway 7 through Nghe An in 2025

According to voters in Tuong Duong and Ky Son districts ( Nghe An province), National Highway 7 passing through the area has many narrow, degraded sections that obstruct visibility and pose a potential risk of traffic accidents.

From there, voters proposed upgrading and expanding National Highway 7 to meet people's traffic needs and ensure traffic safety.

According to the Ministry of Transport , it is expected that about 81 billion VND will be allocated to repair National Highway 7 through Nghe An in 2025 (illustrative photo).

The Ministry of Transport said that according to the Road Network Planning for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050, National Highway 7 through Nghe An province is 225km long, level III - IV scale, 2 - 4 lanes.

Currently, the Ministry of Transport has been investing at level III - IV scale, 2 - 4 lanes according to the planning, in which the section through the two districts of Tuong Duong and Ky Son is about 108km long, with a scale of 2 lanes.

"Due to resource difficulties, the Ministry of Transport has not been able to allocate capital to invest in National Highway 7 passing through Tuong Duong and Ky Son districts in the 2021-2025 period.

The Ministry of Transport has acknowledged the voters' recommendations. In the process of developing a medium-term public investment plan for the 2026-2030 period, based on the ability to balance resources and the principles of capital allocation according to regulations, the Ministry of Transport will consider reporting to the competent authority to invest in National Highway 7," said the Ministry of Transport.

In the immediate future, to meet the travel needs of the people, the Ministry of Transport has assigned the Vietnam Road Administration to repair a number of works and fix damage to traffic infrastructure in 2022, 2023, and 2024 with a budget of about 114 billion VND. In 2025, it is expected to continue to allocate about 81 billion VND for maintenance and repair, ensuring safe and convenient operation on the route.
