Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Nguyen Kim Son affirmed that the decision to recognize the new Rector marks the beginning of a stronger development period for Nha Trang University in the new period. He emphasized that investment in education is necessary, but the key factor determining sustainable development still lies in the internal strength of the school itself. Therefore, Nha Trang University must strive to become one of the leading universities in the region, especially in research and development of the marine economy - a field in which Vietnam has great potential.

The head of the Ministry of Education and Training also said that Resolution 71 has identified Nha Trang University as an important unit in the strategy of developing high-quality human resources and science and technology, contributing directly to the socio-economic development of the country. He called on the collective of staff, lecturers and students to strive to overcome challenges, take advantage of opportunities to improve training quality, and affirm the position of a regional university.

The Minister also expressed his gratitude to Prof. Dr. Trang Si Trung, the previous Principal, for his great contributions during 10 years of leading the school.

In his inaugural speech, the new Principal Quach Hoai Nam expressed that this is a great honor and a heavy responsibility. He said that after 66 years of establishment and development, from a school of fisheries, Nha Trang University has become a prestigious multidisciplinary public university. By 2030, the school aims to become the leading university in the South Central region, outstanding in the fields of marine science, fisheries, tourism and marine economy.

“I am fully aware of my role and am committed to working with the leadership, faculty and students to take Nha Trang University further. I call on everyone to light the fire of aspiration and responsibility, and join hands to build the school into the pride of the education sector and Khanh Hoa province,” said the new Principal.

Dr. Quach Hoai Nam is the Principal of Nha Trang University . Mr. Quach Hoai Nam, 51 years old, PhD in Marine Engineering, is the Principal of Nha Trang University.
