Vietnamese women's football maintains top position in Southeast Asia

In this ranking, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team received an additional 2.09 points thanks to a series of 3 consecutive wins in the 2026 Asian Championship Qualifiers (also the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying round).

Specifically, the team won 7-0 against Maldives, 6-0 against UAE and 4-0 against Guam.

Following the Vietnamese women’s team in Southeast Asia is the Philippine women’s team, ranked 39th in the world , up 2 places from the previous announcement. Meanwhile, the Thai women’s team dropped 7 places, down to 53rd in the world.

On the continental level, the Vietnamese women's team is currently ranked 6th in Asia, after Japan (8th in the world), North Korea (10th), Australia (15th), China (16th) and South Korea (21st).

In the top group of the world, the Spanish women's team surpassed the US to reach the No. 1 position, followed by Sweden - who rose 3 places thanks to 4 wins in all 4 matches at the UEFA European Women's Championship 2025. The English women's team also improved their position, rising to 4th place, while Germany dropped to 5th place.

The current ranking reflects the stable performance of the Vietnamese women's team in recent times and is an important stepping stone for the team to aim to defend the championship title at the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship, taking place in Hai Phong and Phu Tho.

FIFA is expected to announce the next rankings on December 11, 2025.
