Individuals can borrow up to 200 million VND in job creation support.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has just completed the draft Decree detailing a number of articles of the Law on Employment, and the dossier is currently being appraised.

In the draft, the Ministry of Home Affairs stipulates that employees must work no more than 8 hours a day and have at least one day off per week. In special cases where the work cycle prevents weekly rest, they are entitled to at least 4 days off per month on average.

In case an employee works overtime on a weekday, the wage is at least 150%; on a weekly day off, at least 200%; and on a holiday, at least 300%. In case of overtime, the total number of working hours and overtime hours must not exceed 12 hours/day.

The draft also proposes regulations on training support policies for workers in rural areas and young people who have completed their military service, and young people who volunteer to participate in socio-economic development projects. For workers in rural areas, the maximum support level is 4 million VND/person/course. For young workers, the total support level does not exceed 12 months of basic salary.

In addition to tuition fees, the above subjects are also supported with food and living expenses of 50,000 VND/person/day; travel expenses of 200,000 VND/person/course for those residing 15km or more from the training location; 300,000 VND/person/course for those residing in areas with special socio -economic difficulties, 10km or more from the training location.

In the draft, the drafting agency has increased the loan amount to support job creation, maintenance and expansion for workers to 200 million VND; the loan amount for production and business establishments to 10 billion VND.
