Coffee continues to increase sharply from 2,000-2,200 VND/kg

(GLO)- On September 14, domestic coffee continued to increase sharply by 2,000-2,200 VND/kg, raising coffee prices in key growing areas to 119,800-120,200 VND/kg.

Specifically, after increasing by 2,000 VND/kg, coffee in Lam Dong province was purchased at the highest price of 120,500 VND/kg.

With the same increase, coffee prices in Dak Lak province rose to 120,200 VND/kg. In Gia Lai, coffee is currently priced at 120,200 VND/kg, an increase of 2,200 VND/kg.

According to economic experts, one of the main reasons for the high coffee prices is the escalating production costs. Farmers and exporters are forced to adjust their selling prices to compensate for this increased cost.

In addition, international shipping costs also increased due to fuel prices and logistics barriers, pushing up export coffee prices.

In the world market, Robusta and Arabica both increased at the end of the week, in which Arabica reached a 4-month high, while Robusta reached a 1.5-week peak.
