Cam Xuyen launches organic rice production in spring crop 2024

In the spring crop of 2024, Cam Xuyen district ( Ha Tinh ) will produce over 9,500 hectares of rice of all kinds, including 85 hectares of organic rice produced in association with enterprises in 6 communes.

On the morning of January 13, the People's Committee of Cam Xuyen district organized a launching ceremony for organic rice production in the spring crop of 2024 in Binh Quang village, Cam Binh commune.

According to the 2024 spring crop production project, the entire Cam Xuyen district aims to plant 9,560.1 hectares of rice of all kinds, with an expected rice yield of 6 tons/ha and an estimated rice output of 57,315.5 tons.

Identifying the spring rice crop as the most important crop of the year, Cam Xuyen district focuses on directing strongly and promoting the strength of the entire political system, striving to exceed the set area, productivity and output. Strengthening the application of safe production processes (VietGAP, organic...), proactively applying science and technology in production to gradually build the Cam Xuyen rice brand, tracing the origin of products to increase value per unit area.

This crop, Cam Xuyen does not structure 1 variety over 35% of the cultivated area. The orientation of the variety group structure includes: mass varieties produced for many years, stable in productivity used for making goods, processing vermicelli and cakes (N98, Khang Dan, Xuan Mai 12); groups of varieties with high productivity and quality (Bac Thinh, VNR10, BT09, Hana No. 7, ADI 168...); groups of special varieties with concentrated production in association with enterprises to build the Cam Xuyen rice brand (ST25, JO2, RVT, BQ).

This crop, Cam Xuyen district expanded the organic rice production area using rice transplanting and tray seeding technology linked to the chain with enterprises. The chain was deployed in Cam Xuyen town and 5 communes: Cam Binh, Yen Hoa, Nam Phuc Thang, Cam Quang and Cam Thanh with a scale of 85 hectares.

The district integrates organic production with multi-value production to improve economic efficiency in areas with favorable conditions. The district budget partially supports the cost of renting seedling trays, transplanting machines, organic microbial fertilizers, and biological products for implementation.

It is known that with 85 hectares of organic rice in 6 communes and towns produced according to the value chain, the associated enterprise will supply production inputs and consume products at the end of the season.

Specifically: Hoa Lac IEC Joint Stock Company supplies seedlings and transplanters (using Japanese tray-planting and transplanting technology) to production households on a deferred payment basis. This is money to expand the scale of organic rice production in the form of association, contributing to increasing the value of agricultural production in Cam Xuyen district in the following seasons.
