On the evening of August 22, Thu Duc City Police (HCMC) coordinated with relevant units to urgently handle the scene and clarify the cause of a man's death after being crushed by a tree.
The tree was uprooted about 10 meters high, with a wide canopy.
The victim was identified as Mr. Ha Dien Ch. (54 years old, residing in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), who worked as a telecommunications cable bill collector.
Accordingly, at about 8:00 p.m. the same day, during a heavy rain and wind, Mr. Ch. was taking shelter from the rain under a tree on 6D Street (Phuoc Binh Ward, Thu Duc City) when suddenly the tree was uprooted and fell on Mr. Ch., causing him to die on the spot.
The uprooted tree was a banyan tree, about 10 meters high, with a lush canopy. Next to the victim was a heavily damaged motorbike.
People in this area said that at the time of the incident, it was raining heavily and there was a strong wind. They heard a few loud noises and the banyan tree suddenly collapsed. Mr. Ch. was unable to escape in time, so the tragic incident happened.
