Take care to protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers

On December 1, in Hanoi , the Trade Union of the Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Corporation (PVEP) Hanoi held a conference to review the work in 2023 and deploy the plan for 2024.

Attending the Conference were comrade Hoang Ngoc Trung - Member of the Party Committee, Deputy General Director; comrade Kieu Ngoc Anh - Member of the Party Committee, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union, Chairman of the PVEP Trade Union; comrade Dao Ngoc Duan - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Inspection Committee of the Corporation Trade Union, Chairman of the PVEP Song Hong Trade Union; comrade Tran Trong Nghia - Member of the Executive Committee of the PVEP Trade Union, Chairman of the PVEP Hanoi Trade Union; and comrades in the Standing Committee, Executive Committee of the PVEP Hanoi Trade Union.

Reporting at the Conference, Chairman of PVEP Hanoi Trade Union Tran Trong Nghia said that currently, PVEP Hanoi Trade Union has 13 affiliated Trade Unions with 460 union members and employees (of which 204 are female). All employees are guaranteed income and employment, with an average income of 55 million VND/person/month. All employees are eligible for deferred life insurance, voluntary pension insurance, accident insurance and human life insurance.

Through many forms of organizing activities, it has created cohesion in the labor collective. Through the union, workers have a healthy living environment, there are specialized clubs creating a lively and joyful atmosphere; through which the Union can also listen to and exchange the thoughts and aspirations of the workers, helping to unite the whole unit in a unified, effective and timely manner.

In 2023, the Trade Union Congress at all levels for the 2023-2028 term took place. All union members and workers participated in a broad and democratic political activity, which was a festival for union members and workers.

Last year was also the year PVEP restructured the Corporation's apparatus. After a period of adjusting to the new model, the activities of the current Boards have stabilized, creating momentum for PVEP's new sustainable development. Along with that, the PVEP Hanoi Trade Union also reorganized the Trade Unions and consolidated the Executive Committees of the Trade Unions in the new Boards after restructuring.

Regarding progress: 13/13 Departmental Unions have completed the organization of Congresses at the Departmental Union level according to the schedule in the first quarter of 2023. PVEP Hanoi Trade Union has completed the organization of the Congress according to the schedule before May 31, 2023.

Regarding quality and content: The trade union congresses at all levels at PVEP Hanoi Trade Union have completed all the objectives as required by the plan. The congresses at all levels have summarized and evaluated the trade union work for the 2017-2023 term and developed directions and tasks for the 2023-2028 term; elected the new Executive Committee for the 2023-2028 term and the delegation to attend the higher-level trade union congresses; participated in discussions and contributed opinions to the documents of the trade union congresses at all levels.

PVEP Hanoi Trade Union actively propagates and mobilizes employees to raise awareness, always be vigilant and properly implement policies and instructions of competent authorities on Covid-19 epidemic prevention in the new situation and other epidemics such as dengue fever and pink eye. PVEP Hanoi Trade Union is always active in organizing activities to care for employees and relatives of employees with serious illnesses. Through information channels from the Trade Unions, PVEP Hanoi Trade Union always promptly encourages, visits and supports cases of employees and relatives of employees with serious illnesses.

Promoting the positive aspects of activities in 2023, on the basis of the Resolution of the 4th Congress of PVEP Hanoi Trade Union, term 2023-2028, the Executive Committee of PVEP Hanoi Trade Union plans key tasks in 2024 such as: Encouraging employees to actively compete in creative labor, promoting initiatives, inventions, technical improvements, striving to excellently complete PVEP's 2024 production and business tasks assigned by the Group; Deploying the work of inspecting and supervising peers and departmental trade unions on grassroots democracy and financial work;

Organize training, fostering, and coaching on theory and professional work of trade union for trade union officials; Actively participate in Party building work, strive to introduce at least 15 outstanding trade union members for consideration of Party admission; Continue to build a healthy and effective living environment for sports clubs; Organize/participate in cultural and sports activities organized by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union/PVEP Trade Union. Implement social security activities for people with difficult circumstances in society based on coordination with the PVEP Trade Union and member trade unions in the Corporation; Regularly organize inspections of occupational safety and health and fire prevention and fighting at the headquarters; Regularly care for employees and their relatives....

Acknowledging and appreciating the performance of PVEP Hanoi Trade Union in recent times, Deputy General Director of PVEP Hoang Ngoc Trung shared with the Conference a number of solutions for PVEP Trade Union to operate more effectively in the coming time, emphasizing taking care of workers' lives, building and spreading corporate culture, and promoting emulation movements to promote production and business.

Speaking at the Conference, Chairman of PVEP Trade Union Kieu Ngoc Anh expressed high agreement with the direction of operation of PVEP Hanoi Trade Union in 2024.

In addition to the core work of taking care of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, the Chairman of PVEP hopes that the PVEP Hanoi Trade Union will continue to innovate its working methods, strive to become a bright spot in implementing 5S, building PVEP Corporate Culture and promoting emulation movements, initiatives and creativity.

On this occasion, PVEP Union awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with good achievements in union activities.
