At the meeting, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh believed that the visit and work of the German National Assembly Delegate in Vietnam will contribute to further deepening the understanding and relationship between the two governments and peoples.

Talking to the German National Assembly delegate, Mr. Phan Van Anh said that in recent times, the Vietnam Trade Union has also actively implemented and achieved many important results in performing the task of representing and protecting union members and workers; propagating and educating union members and workers; taking care of union members and workers both materially and spiritually; launching emulation movements among union members and workers, thereby creating harmonious and stable labor relations in enterprises... In recent times, the Vietnam Trade Union has spent nearly 80% of the Union's financial resources to take care of union members and workers.

Representatives of the Vietnam Trade Union have effectively performed their role as members of the National Wage Council, successfully negotiating the increase in regional minimum wages over the past 5 years with an increase of 23% and a further increase of 6% from July 1, 2024. Trade Unions at all levels have focused on dialogue, collective bargaining, increasing the number, focusing on wages, bonuses, working hours, rest hours, occupational safety and hygiene, building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations. In particular, in recent years, the Vietnam Trade Union has coordinated to organize meetings between the Government, the National Assembly and National Assembly deputies with trade union officials, union members, workers... Through exchanges, many issues that union members and workers are interested in and have expressed their opinions have been accepted, resolved, and timely solutions have been found.

“Currently, Vietnam Trade Unions at all levels are focusing on developing projects and action programs to implement the Resolution of the 13th Congress of Vietnam Trade Union, term 2023-2028, focusing on 3 breakthroughs: First is to promote dialogue and collective bargaining, focusing on wages, bonuses, working hours, rest hours, and occupational safety and hygiene. The target by the end of the term is that at least 83% of enterprises and units with Trade Union organizations that meet the conditions prescribed by law will be able to negotiate and sign collective labor agreements with the Trade Union in accordance with the law.

The second is to focus on developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in non-state enterprises. Currently, the total number of union members is over 11.5 million people in over 123,000 grassroots unions; the target by the end of the term is to have 15 million union members nationwide and establish grassroots organizations in 100% of enterprises with 25 or more employees.

Third is to build a team of grassroots union presidents that meet the requirements of the task, especially union presidents at non-state enterprises. The target is that 100% of newly elected grassroots union presidents will be trained and fostered in an appropriate form," said Mr. Phan Van Anh...
