ChatGPT is down, why?

Statistics from Down Detector, a tool that monitors the health of internet services, show a large number of reports of users being unable to use ChatGPT. 88% of users reported problems with the service, 5% had problems with the app, and 7% had problems with OpenAI's website.

For ChatGPT application on mobile devices, users can still access and use it normally.

Notably, the ChatGPT outage also affected and made OpenAI's other service, Sora, an AI tool that generates videos from descriptive text, inaccessible.

OpenAI said it has identified the issue and is working to fix it. The problem stems from OpenAI's application programming interfaces.

This is not the first time ChatGPT has had a serious problem. In early June, ChatGPT also crashed globally, making it inaccessible to users, and it took 3 days to completely recover. OpenAI did not give an explanation for the problem that occurred in early June.

According to Downdetector, problem reports appeared in large numbers from around 0:30 and peaked at 1:00 globally, with more than 80,000 reports for Facebook, 66,000 for Instagram and about more than 10,000 for Messenger and WhatsApp.
