Coach Doan Thi Kim Chi of Ho Chi Minh City I Club received a 2-match ban from the Disciplinary Board of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). The former player was punished for intentionally interrupting the match between Ho Chi Minh City I Club and Vietnam Coal and Minerals (TKS Vietnam) in the 4th round of the National Women's Football Championship.
In the 87th minute, midfielder Cu Thi Huynh Nhu (HCMC I) tried to defend and blocked Nguyen Thi Thuy (TKS Vietnam) in the penalty area. Referee Vu Van Dien immediately awarded a penalty to TKS Vietnam when he determined that Huynh Nhu had committed a foul. This was a phase where this player had an impact and blocked an opponent's shot illegally.

Ms. Kim Chi had to call her players off the field for a few minutes. But the players still returned to the field to continue the match. After that, Duong Thi Van missed the penalty kick and TP.HCM I still won 1-0 and rose to the top of the rankings.
According to information from VFF, the disciplinary decision was made based on the report of the referee supervisor and match supervisor, and the separate report of the referee team controlling the match. In particular, the separate video recording showed that the players of the HCMC women's team I did not react in any way. However, coach Kim Chi called on her students to leave the field and stop playing when TKS Vietnam was about to take a penalty kick.
According to the rules of the game, only the main referee in charge of the match has the right to stop the match. Coaches and players are not allowed to stop the match without the referee's permission.
Also on the afternoon of November 28, Ms. Doan Thi Kim Chi personally submitted a complaint to the tournament's Organizing Committee and the VFF Disciplinary Board. In the complaint, Ms. Chi said that the referee team judged the situation unfavorable, causing frustration for the female players of Ho Chi Minh City I. Therefore, Ms. Chi asked her students to return to the technical area to prevent bad behavior and correct the players' playing attitude. Therefore, this coach hopes that the Disciplinary Board will reconsider the penalty.
