'Husband carries wife' to run Can Gio Marathon in new outfit

One of the attractive and funny events is the "husband carrying wife" at the HDBank Green Marathon 2025 taking place at the end of September in Can Gio (HCMC).

The Green Can Gio Marathon HDBank officially announced its name change to HDBank Green Marathon 2025. With a new look and name, the tournament, entering its 4th year, remains steadfast in its "Green" spirit, continuing to be a sporting event loved by many athletes, while also being associated with many meaningful activities for the community and the environment.

With this certification, athletes who complete the race can use their results to register for the six most prestigious marathons on the planet including Chicago Marathon, Boston Marathon, London Marathon, New York Marathon, Tokyo Marathon, Berlin Marathon.

The tournament offers a variety of distances, suitable for all ages and levels, from 1.5km, 3km, 5km, 10km, half marathon to full marathon. In addition, the program of returning to the source with the visit to the Can Gio Martyrs' Cemetery and the visit to the Memorial Temple of the heroic martyrs of Sac forest also contributes to fostering the tradition of drinking water and remembering its source.

This green run is part of the Nghinh Ong Festival, a long-standing traditional festival recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national intangible cultural heritage since 2013. Mr. Mai Ba Hung, Standing Member of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, one of the initiators of the tournament, expects the tournament taking place on September 27 and 28 to attract about 5,000 athletes to participate, creating a big festival, not only contributing to the sports movement but also promoting tourism, helping runners discover more about Can Gio, a land with meaningful historical, cultural and natural values ​​of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.
