According to VNA, this morning, within the framework of activities to attend the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the world 's victory over fascism and work in China, President Luong Cuong received representatives of the Chinese friendship family.
Speaking at the reception, the President expressed his joy and emotion when meeting with representatives of families and relatives of former Vietnamese and Chinese experts, advisors and cadres who had helped the Vietnamese people in the two resistance wars for national independence; affirming that these are people who have made many great contributions and dedication to the revolutionary cause of Vietnam and the Vietnam-China friendship.
The President said that his working trip to China to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the world people's victory over fascism, work with Chinese leaders and many other bilateral activities with a number of leaders of other countries in a short time, a lot of work but always show affection and gratitude to comrades who have contributed to consolidating and strengthening the Vietnam - China friendship and solidarity relationship "both comrades and brothers" over the past 75 years, including relatives of the delegates attending this meeting.
Noting that since his time studying history, he had known friendly personalities such as General Nguyen Son, General Tran Canh, Senior General Vi Quoc Thanh, Professor - Academician Nguyen Khanh Toan..., the President affirmed that Vietnam highly appreciates and remembers the help of Chinese advisors and experts who shared hardships with the Vietnamese people and also does not forget the Vietnamese soldiers who joined the Chinese Red Army such as General Nguyen Son who contributed to the cause of national liberation of the Chinese people as well as the Vietnamese people...
The President said that the Vietnam-China relationship, which was nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh , President Mao Zedong and generations of leaders and people of the two countries, has been developing well and currently, on the basis of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and in the new era, the two countries are elevating the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future relationship to a strategic level.
Emphasizing the very good cultural traditions of Vietnam "when drinking water, remember its source" and "when eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree", over the past 75 years of history, Vietnam has always educated generations to understand, appreciate and preserve the good relationship between the two countries.
To maintain and strengthen the good relationship between the two countries, there are very important contributions from Vietnamese people who are doing business, living and studying in China; especially relatives of Vietnamese and Chinese revolutionary leaders and officials, who are like the tight ties that bind the good relationship between the two countries.
The President hopes that the relatives of the friendly personalities will always be healthy, continue to uphold and promote the revolutionary tradition of their ancestors, and contribute to building and strengthening the Vietnam - China relationship to develop, stabilize, sustainably and effectively in the long term in the coming time.
On this occasion, the President presented gifts to representatives of Chinese friendship families.
President meets Vietnamese community in China
Also according to VNA, President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation visited and met with officials, staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in China.
Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh said there are currently more than 100,000 people, including about 23,000 international students, living and studying in many provinces and cities of the neighboring country.
The Vietnamese community in China lives in solidarity, obeys local laws, always looks towards the homeland and country, and supports the policies of the Party and State.
Representatives of the Vietnamese community in China expressed their joy at welcoming President Luong Cuong to attend activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the world people's victory over fascism and activities in China.
The President announced a number of results in his working sessions with Chinese leaders, especially the talks with General Secretary and President Xi Jinping of China, aiming to consolidate and enhance political trust between the two sides; measures to expand and improve the effectiveness of cooperation in various fields, promote the removal of obstacles in cooperation; maximize common points, seek ways to control disagreements, for peace, cooperation and development.
President Luong Cuong highly appreciated the collective of officials and staff of the Embassy, representative agencies and permanent offices of Vietnam in China for their great efforts, overcoming difficulties, and successfully completing the tasks assigned by the Party and State, especially effectively implementing foreign political tasks, economic and cultural diplomacy, work with overseas Vietnamese, and work to protect sovereignty over seas and islands.
The President also praised the spirit of solidarity and efforts of the Vietnamese community in China, actively contributing to consolidating and promoting the "both comrade and brother" relationship between Vietnam and China, spreading the friendly and close image of the Vietnamese people to local and international friends.
The Head of State affirmed that Vietnam has consistently considered developing relations with China an objective requirement, a strategic choice and a top priority, in line with the fundamental and long-term interests of the nation and people, and an important factor contributing to building a favorable environment for the country to move towards fulfilling its aspirations and development goals by 2030 and 2045.
In the context of the world and regional situation continuing to evolve rapidly and complicatedly, with multi-dimensional impacts on our security, development and foreign relations environment, the President said that key leaders of the two Parties and two countries have reached common perceptions on the need to continue solidarity, cooperation, strengthening and deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future, which has strategic significance.
President Luong Cuong asked the Embassy to carry out well its foreign political tasks; prioritize promoting and consolidating political trust, bringing the Vietnam-China relationship to develop stably, sustainably, in depth and substantially; focus on research work, closely follow the local situation to promptly advise the Party and State.
Along with that, it is necessary to carry out economic diplomacy well, taking people and businesses as the center of service; continue to do well cultural diplomacy, people-to-people exchange, consular work, and take care of the rights and legitimate interests of overseas Vietnamese and students studying in China.
