Welcoming the President and his wife at Boeing Field airport were Washington State Lieutenant Governor Denny Heck and his wife; Washington State Secretary of State Steve Hobbs and leaders of the Boeing Corporation.
On the Vietnamese side, there were Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung and Vietnamese Consul General in San Francisco Hoang Anh Tuan.


In Seattle, President Luong Cuong received Washington State Lieutenant Governor Denny Heck.
The President expressed his delight that the trip took place on the occasion of the United Nations celebrating its 80th anniversary and Vietnam and the US celebrating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1995-2025) and two years of upgrading their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership (2023-2025).
The President affirmed that one of the goals of the trip is to promote and further deepen the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with all partners.
Vietnam considers the US one of its top important partners and Washington State a key partner at the local level, one of the leading economic and trade centers of the US. Vietnam is currently Washington State's 5th largest export market.
Appreciating the cooperation over the past time which has brought practical benefits to both sides, the President was pleased with the practical cooperation results in trade, education, aviation and energy.
Noting that the two countries still have great potential to expand cooperation in many fields, the President suggested that the two sides maintain the momentum of cooperation through increasing delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels; facilitating trade and investment; promoting cooperation in science and technology, artificial intelligence, logistics, clean energy, deep-water ports, and promoting cooperation between Washington state and Ho Chi Minh City.
On behalf of the Vietnamese State, the President emphasized that Washington State has a large Vietnamese-American population and that Vietnamese people live, work, and have an important position and role in the Vietnamese community in the US.
The President asked the state to pay attention and support the Vietnamese community here to grow stronger and contribute to the relationship between the two countries.

Lieutenant Governor Denny Heck expressed his pleasure to meet President Luong Cuong, his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation who came to the US and had a very meaningful stop in Washington state.
The Deputy Governor affirmed that Washington State considers Vietnam a priority partner in the region, in which Washington State has exported millions of USD worth of agricultural products to Vietnam, contributing to the trade balance between the two countries.
He said he is ready to work with Vietnamese partners to strengthen government-business connections; promote two-way trade and investment; enhance cooperation on supply chains and green logistics; and develop human resources and innovation.
The Washington State Lieutenant Governor also appreciated the very effective cooperation between Vietnamese and American businesses, especially in the aviation sector.
He emphasized that the Boeing Corporation's transfer of the Boeing 737 Max aircraft to Vietjet Air is an important milestone, contributing to promoting harmonious trade between the two countries, creating thousands of jobs for people in the state. This cooperation also affirms the potential and important role of Vietnamese enterprises in the international arena.
Appreciating the role and contributions of the Vietnamese community to the state's economic development, he pledged to create a favorable living, learning and business environment, encourage cultural and educational exchanges, start-ups and connections between Washington state and Vietnam.
On this occasion, the President invited the state leaders to soon visit Vietnam to promote and strengthen relations between the two countries and between the state and Vietnam in particular.
