These are children orphaned by either their father or mother, or both parents during the Covid-19 pandemic, with especially difficult circumstances, who are being sponsored by the "Together as Parents" project (founded by Kim Oanh Charity Fund), supporting and taking care of part of the children's material and spiritual lives.
"The New Moon Story" although started from a story of incompleteness, always carries within it the hope of growing up and shining like the image of the most beautiful moon of the year.
During the Mid-Autumn Festival, the atmosphere of reunion seems to spread to every corner, street... In children's memories, Mid-Autumn Festival is truly a happy and warm moment when they can reunite, gather, share joy with their parents, grandparents... carry lanterns, break cakes, receive gifts from their loved ones. However, not everyone is lucky enough to have the feeling of reunion, for the children of the "Together as Parents" project, the Mid-Autumn Festival 2021 - 2022 is an incomplete moon season when they have to leave the embrace of their parents because of COVID-19.
However, there is one truth that never changes: you are not alone, the Mid-Autumn Moon, wherever it is, will shine with hope. Lanterns are still lit, moon cakes are still passed around, and laughter still resounds.
"The New Moon Story" (a program developed from the project Let's Be Parents) although started from a story of incompleteness, always carries within it the hope of growing up and shining like the image of the most beautiful moon of the year.
From a theme of the 2023 Mid-Autumn Festival, "The Story of the New Moon" was developed and became the official program of the Together Parents project and the Heart Start Fund.
Ms. Dang Thi Kim Oanh - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Heart Start Fund shared that with the wish to give the children the best things, this program hopes to bring the children of the project "Together as Parents" a warm and cozy Mid-Autumn Festival. The gifts carry great meaning, contributing to motivating the children to continue to strive to study and practice, towards a better future.
"The Co-Parenting project not only provides material support but also accompanies children on their journey to adulthood. Hopefully, the Co-Parenting family will be a place to support and give children wings on the upcoming journey," Ms. Oanh expressed.
Coming to the activities at the program "New Moon Story", children and teenagers can participate in many exciting activities such as making food trays, watching festivals, and performing arts.
Happy smiles always shine on the children's faces when they participate in useful activities at the festival.
The tray-making competition was one of the most interesting and exciting activities. The children showed their ingenuity and creativity by decorating and arranging cakes, fruits, lanterns, etc. into their team's tray.
With the sound of drums, the lion dance brought excitement and joy to the children.
With laughter and cheers, the Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere becomes warm and connects people.
In the warm and meaningful atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the children gave their parents, who have accompanied them during the past time, flowers of gratitude to express their deep gratitude.
A little friend could not hide his emotions and joy when everyone cared about and participated in "The New Moon Story".
Ms. Dang Thi Kim Oanh - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Heart Start-up Fund shared and encouraged the children at the festival.
The children also received gifts from benefactors on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, including moon cakes, lanterns, books and meaningful scholarships.
Gifts or scholarships are encouragement and motivation to help children overcome difficulties in life, try to be good and study well.
At the program, the sponsors donated 115 million VND to support the project Let's Be Parents, helping children start the new school year. This activity is part of the New Moon Story program series organized by the Khoi Su Tu Tam Fund - Kim Oanh Group.
The Mid-Autumn Festival has ended, but the love and care that everyone has given to the children will remain forever. And in their hearts, this year's Mid-Autumn Festival will always be a beautiful memory, a mark of an innocent childhood, full of joy and happiness.
The “Together as Parents” project was initiated by the Heart Start Fund to provide support for orphans in Vietnam. The project focuses on mobilizing and building an environment to nurture and care for orphans right in the community where they grow up. This is where they grow up with love, care, and protection from their remaining relatives and receive necessary resources right in the community for them to develop comprehensively. In many children's issues, the Fund focuses on intervention solutions to reduce the rate of children dropping out of school, accompanying children until they graduate from high school and creating a healthy and safe living environment for children alongside their relatives.
