Without much funding to operate, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club used many young players to compete in professional playgrounds, including young players from Juventus Vietnam Academy (now BMG Academy).
Under the leadership of coach Nguyen Minh Phuong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club was lucky to avoid relegation last season when it ranked 10th out of 11 teams in the 2024-2025 First Division.
However, the team's future in the 2025-2026 First Division is uncertain as coach Nguyen Minh Phuong has parted ways due to the end of his contract.
Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club lost 7 players on the list of 18 young players sent by Ho Chi Minh City Club to Brazil for long-term training for 3 years, expected to start next August.
This is a cooperation program between Ho Chi Minh City Club and Gremio - a leading club in Brazil and South America, which the team's leadership hopes will create a new generation of talented players in the future.

In the second leg of the 2024-2025 First Division, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club registered 26 players. 7 players sent by Ho Chi Minh City Club to Brazil for training all played a lot for Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club.
Specifically, 1.93m tall goalkeeper Nguyen Tan (born in 2005) played 10 matches, 1.87m tall goalkeeper Hoa Xuan Tin (born in 2008) started 6 out of 20 matches in the 2024-2025 First Division. Both goalkeepers used to play for the national U22 and U17 teams.
Defender Le Kha Duc (2007) played 17 matches, Truong Nhac Minh (2006, 1.83m tall) played 19 matches, Nguyen Hong Quang (2008) played 5 matches.
Midfielder Vo Tuan Phong (2006) played 19 matches, scored 1 goal; Pham Minh Quan (2008) played 6 matches.
The 2025-2026 First Division tournament opens on September 19. From now until the opening, there is still plenty of time for the leadership of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club to find and supplement its forces.
