Many banks announced closing the shareholder list to pay cash dividends of thousands of billions of dong.

Some listed banks plan to pay cash dividends to shareholders in the amount of thousands of billions of VND. Specifically, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam ( BID - stock code BID) has just announced a plan to pay cash dividends in 2024 to shareholders. Accordingly, October 15 is the date to close the shareholder list to make the payment at a rate of 4.5%, equivalent to each share receiving 450 VND. The expected payment date is November 14. With more than 7.021 billion shares in circulation, the total amount BIDV will pay is 3,159.6 billion VND.

Notably, this is the first time in nearly 4 years that the bank has paid cash dividends. The last time took place at the end of 2021, when BIDV closed the shareholder list to pay cash dividends in 2020 at a rate of 2%.

Meanwhile, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam ( Vietcombank ) will close the shareholder list on October 6 to pay cash dividends at a rate of 4.5% (equivalent to VND450 per share). The expected payment date is October 24. With nearly 8.4 billion shares in circulation, the bank plans to spend about VND3,760 billion.

Similarly, the Board of Directors of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade ( VietinBank - stock code CTG) also announced a resolution approving the payment of 2024 cash dividends to the bank's shareholders. Accordingly, the bank will pay cash dividends at a rate of 4.5%, meaning that shareholders owning one share will receive 450 VND. The bank currently has more than 5.36 billion shares in circulation, so it will pay over 2,416 billion VND in cash to shareholders. The last registration date to exercise the right to receive dividends is October 15 and the bank is expected to pay on November 17. Currently, 64.46% of VietinBank's equity is owned by the State Bank and 19.73% by foreign shareholder MUFG Bank (Japan). In this dividend payment, the State Bank will collect about 1,557 billion VND and MUFG Bank about 477 billion VND.

Previously, Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank - stock code TCB) has just finalized the list of shareholders to pay 2024 cash dividends at a rate of 10%, equivalent to 1,000 VND per share.
