(Baothanhhoa.vn) - "Words must go hand in hand with actions", "doing what must be done" is the motto of Mr. Khuong Van Yen, Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Front Work Committee of Doi Cung 1 Street, Hac Thanh Ward. From the time he was working until his retirement, he did not allow himself to rest, because according to him, as long as he is healthy, he can continue to contribute.

Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Front Work Committee Khuong Van Yen propagates and mobilizes people to participate in emulation movements of the street.

After many years working at the Construction Project Management Board under the Thanh Hoa Department of Construction, at the end of 2016, Mr. Yen retired and participated in Party activities at Doi Cung 1 Street, Dong Tho Ward, Thanh Hoa City (old). In early 2017, Mr. Yen began to work in the front, then became Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell, then Secretary of the Party Cell and Head of the Street Front Work Board until now.

As Party Cell Secretary, Mr. Yen not only promoted his pioneering and exemplary spirit, but also made efforts to implement President Ho Chi Minh's teachings: "If the Party Cell is good, all Party policies will be well implemented, and all work will progress continuously. On the contrary, if the Party Cell is bad, the work will not go smoothly." And he immediately set about building the "4 good" Party Cell, which is good leadership in completing political tasks; good quality of activities; good solidarity, discipline and good cadres and Party members. Based on the criteria framework of the "4 good" Party Cell, as the "leader" of the street, he and the Party Cell and Party Cell built Doi Cung 1 Street to become a bright spot of Dong Tho Ward (old). This is demonstrated when from 2017 to 2024, the Party Cell has always been ranked as having excellently completed its tasks by the Dong Tho Ward Party Committee and Thanh Hoa City Party Committee (old).

For the people of Doi Cung 1 street, when patriotic emulation movements always lead the ward, the leadership role of the Party cell is more clearly demonstrated. The Party cell committee here has changed its thinking from discussing what it has to discussing what the people need, going straight to the issues of people's livelihood. By clearly defining what is beneficial to the people and trying to do it, the contents of practical significance related to people's lives such as building civilized urban areas, friendly citizens, environmental sanitation, urban order, food safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting..., have gone from Party cell activities to real life in the most natural way, receiving the consensus and support of cadres, Party members and the people.

Before Mr. Yen became the Party Cell Secretary, Doi Cung 1 Street was recognized as the first provincial-level cultural street of Thanh Hoa, and also one of the first model streets of Thanh Hoa City (old). How to make more outstanding marks for the street is not easy. However, thanks to his skillful propaganda and mobilization work, he and the Party Cell have made Doi Cung 1 Street lead Dong Tho Ward (old) in many fields. One of the outstanding marks is collecting all kinds of funds from people's contributions. Initially, he established groups to go to each family to mobilize with the motto "go to every alley, knock on every door". Not long after, realizing that this work was not really effective and took a lot of effort to travel, he discussed with the Party Committee, the street executive committee and organized a People's conference to agree on centralized payment at the cultural house. Along with that, the street has set up zalo groups for party cells, party groups, people's groups, party member groups 213... to propagate and deploy plans to all party members and people in the fastest and most timely manner.

This method has created a widespread influence and received the response of the entire population. Thanks to that, Doi Cung 1 street always completes, completes early and exceeds the assigned targets. For example, implementing Directive No. 22-CT/TU of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the campaign to build houses for poor households, policy families, and households with housing difficulties in 2024-2025, in just 5 days the street completed both campaigns and collected more than 80 million VND, exceeding the assigned target. Or to renovate the street's cultural house, people voluntarily contributed funds for repairs, renovations and equipment purchases worth nearly 394 million VND. To keep the street clean and beautiful, in addition to the self-decoration of each family, people in the street also contributed more than 268 million VND to asphalt pavement...

According to Party cell secretary Khuong Van Yen: “In order for everything to be successful, we always implement democratic regulations well. All work of the city is widely deployed among the people, especially the financial transparency of revenues or projects with contributions from the people. Thereby, we have received high support from the people and have achieved many results.”

The practical work of Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Front Work Committee Khuong Van Yen for Doi Cung 1 Street has been recognized by all levels and sectors, and he has been awarded many certificates of merit. Most recently, in May 2025, he was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee (old) on the occasion of summarizing 10 years of implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo . This is a worthy reward, a motivation for him to continue to be dedicated and responsible for his activities, for the development of the street.
