Hanoi police introduce new recruit Quang Hai

As information leaked nearly a month ago, midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai, after parting ways with Pau FC, joined Hanoi Police to play the rest of the 2023 season.

Quang Hai returns to V-League to play for Hanoi Police.

Through social networks on the evening of June 22, Hanoi Police announced the signing of Nguyen Quang Hai. This is also the first new recruit officially announced by the Police team. The contract between the two sides lasts until the end of the 2023-2024 season. The 26-year-old midfielder will wear the familiar number 19 shirt, and is expected to have his debut match at Hang Day Stadium on June 14, when Hanoi Police host Ha Tinh in round 12 of phase I of V-League 2023.

Quang Hai joined the Hanoi Police headquarters after returning from the Vietnam national team. Previously, Hai "Con" played in two FIFA Days friendly matches last June against Hong Kong (China) and Syria. With the pillars of Hanoi Police all being teammates in the national team, the 2018 Vietnam Golden Ball will not take much time to get used to the new club.

On the V-League 2023 rankings, Hanoi Police temporarily ranked 2nd with 21 points, 1 point behind the top team Thanh Hoa . Quang Hai's appearance will add more steel to the squad that coach Flavio Cruz is building. The Brazilian coach once shared that Hai "son" is a very high-class player, among the top of the Vietnamese team, and will help the club a lot.

Since leaving Hanoi FC to join Pau FC in Ligue 2 last summer, Quang Hai has spent most of his time without playing for the first team. If counting from after the AFF Cup 2022, the player from the capital has only had 14 minutes of playing time in Ligue 2. Vietnamese fans have also gradually gotten used to the news that Hai "son" plays matches for the B team in the 5th division of France. So this return trip of Hai is expected to help him regain the skill set that has been lost for a long time.
