This message was emphasized by delegates at the conference "Diversifying export markets and applying digital technology" organized by the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) on September 5 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ms. Lai Viet Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy affirmed that e-commerce is not only a growth driver but also a solid foundation for the breakthrough of the national digital economy. The application of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data and Internet of Things (IoT) will help businesses optimize operations, reduce costs and build smart market access strategies.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Phi Anh Tuan - Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Information Technology Association emphasized that in the context of fierce competition, digital transformation is considered the "key to survival", especially for small and medium enterprises.

Pointing out the major technology trends shaping the future of e-commerce, Mr. Vu Ngoc Sy - Smart Skills Universe expert said, AI is creating hyper-personalized shopping experiences, helping businesses understand and accurately meet the needs of each customer. Meanwhile, with cross-border e-commerce, technology platforms are helping businesses "sit in one place - sell globally".

Applying digital technology helps businesses optimize operations and increase competitiveness in the volatile global economic context.

Also referring to cross-border e-commerce, Ms. Vu Xuan Linh from Sea Group shared that through the Shopee International Platform (SIP) program, more than 350,000 small and medium-sized enterprises have participated in online exports, taking advantage of value-added services such as automatic translation and customer care in native languages to reduce barriers when expanding regionally.

In addition, the trend of combining social networks and online shopping, especially livestreaming, is becoming an extremely effective sales channel, creating direct interaction and strongly promoting sales.

At the event, speakers assessed that digital technology not only changes the way businesses sell but also the production process. Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien - General Director of Next Robotics shared about AI solutions and automatic robots in real-time production monitoring and product quality inspection. These technologies help businesses improve productivity and meet strict international standards.

In terms of marketing and branding, digital technology also plays a decisive role. Dr. Chen Jia, representative of the China National Ecological Product Appraisal System (PEOP), said that digital technology certifications such as QR codes and AI can be considered "green passports" to help Vietnamese products enhance their brands and effectively reach consumers through e-commerce channels.

Emphasizing the power of leveraging digital tools on major platforms, Mr. Vo Thanh Tong - Senior Account Manager at Amazon Global Selling Vietnam said: "Since 2019, Amazon Global Selling has accompanied thousands of Vietnamese businesses, helping the number of products sold increase by 300% and the number of internationally registered brands increase more than 35 times."

According to the speakers, in the digital age, the accompaniment of management agencies, close cooperation between partners and the proactive spirit of technology application from businesses will be important driving forces, promoting the sustainable development of Vietnam's economy and affirming its position on the global trade map.
